Daily Sun Protection SPF 20

This light, daily sunscreen is formulated with transparent zinc oxide and antioxidants to protect against Ultra Violet A and B (UVA/UVB) rays and provide defense against aging.
Photo damage to the skin is primarily a result of exposure to UVA/UVB rays. UVB rays are likely to produce more sunburn than UVA and are also considered the main cause of different types of skin cancers. Many chemical sunscreen agents, including octinoxate, provide protection against UVB rays.
UVA rays penetrate deeper in to the skin and are considered the primary cause of wrinkling, leathering, and other aspects of photoaging. They also increase the damaging effects of UVB rays. Products containing physical blocking agents, such as zinc oxide, are best for protection against UVA and UVB rays.
Sun Protection Factor (SPF) is the universal measurement of UVB protection. The higher the SPF, the more protection the product provides against UVB rays. Application of an SPF 20 product allows 20 times longer exposure to the sun than with no SPF, under similar conditions. SPF does not represent protection against UVA rays, only products labeled "Full Spectrum" provide protection against UVA rays. |
